Voice is my Calling. My soul made manifest.
I have 40+ years of experience as a vocal performer, yet I discovered that using my voice for self-advocacy was a completely different skill.
I was a singer without a voice.
I was a master of my physical voice,
performing since I was a small child,
able to touch the audience and evoke emotion.
But my own authenticity was nowhere to be seen.
Using my voice to hold my boundaries,
to express my needs, and stand strong in my personal confidence was not something I'd learned.
I knew how to make my voice sound pretty...
but I didn’t know how to use my voice fully for myself,
to express my opinions, my words.
I didn't know how to use my voice for ME, as an authentic expression of my soul.
